A Place to Belong
In a lot of ways, it is no surprise that my heart beats so strongly for children to have a sense of belonging. Adoption has been part of my family’s story as I grew up with both adopted and biological brothers and sisters. My heart aches for children to have a home – to have a family. To belong is a value I hold in high esteem.
In Guatemala, over the past several years, I have held precious little abandoned babies. I have prayed over them and have felt heartbroken. It has been my deep desire to share in helping little ones like these. God is granting this desire, and we are seeing plans move ever closer to the day when the Impact Ministries Vida Children’s Home will open in Tactic.
When I was in Guatemala in March, I was so thrilled to walk through the baby home and to see all the work that has been done. I was able to see the rooms beautifully painted and furnished with cribs that were made in the carpentry shop. The baby home is looking good!
A most kind and loving Guatemalan couple, along with their children, are already living there, ready to welcome the little ones that will come. And now, we continue to wait and pray that the paperwork for officially opening the home is approved quickly.
